San Francisco Sutro Baths Session
I met Caylyn a couple of years ago through a mutual friend, and it’s always a joy being able to hang out with her. Back in April I had a wedding in the Bay Area, and was lucky enough to be able to stay with Caylyn in Kian next to the ocean in San Francisco. Before going to a comedy show we went to the Sutro Baths and did a short session. They might be one of the coolest, sweetest, couples I’ve ever gotten to know.
It was really interesting to see the baths and it’s definitely a must see if you go to the Bay Area. The history of the area is really cool as well, and looking up photos/drawings of it are amazing. The baths and the cliff house opened in the 1800s and was MASSIVE. It all burned down in 1966 so it’s in ruins, but some of the baths are still in tact as well as parts of the mens locker room. History is rad people, and we should dig into it a bit more. The states don’t have as much history as other countries, but I really love seeing what we do have.
If you do decide to head out to the Baths or any nature area please practice LNT and pack out your trash (and maybe some other trash) with you. As well as taking care NOT to trample flora and fauna, and staying in designated areas. We only have one planet and I want us all to be able to explore it, but also take care of it the best that we can. You can learn more about Leave No Trace here. If you don’t read anything else, please read up on LNT.
