Last summer I made my way out to the west coast and onto a tiny little island for this Orcas Island Wedding. This was my first time out to the island and I have to say, it's one of the most beautiful locations I've been to for a wedding. I've always loved the Pacific North West, but being on one of the islands was other worldly. Lindsey (my second shooter) and I went out a day early so we could see the island and get acquainted with everything + shoot some B roll footage for their wedding video. This was also my first time really being on a ferry and I enjoyed it so much more than I thought I would.
On the wedding day the bride got ready in the cutest little Inn, called the Orcas Hotel, which I definitely want to stay at next time I'm on the island. They also had their intimate reception there that evening as well. The food was magnificent and they were having a little concert series there during the day. It feels like it's straight out of Stars Hollow. The ceremony took place at the cutest little church I've seen called the Victorian Valley Chapel. It's a little white chapel nestled in between a field and the woods and it's everything you could want for an intimate wedding.
I loved how the bride and groom kept their day very intimate and personal. They also really love Orcas Island and knew they wanted to have a small destination wedding there. I'm honored to have been a part of it in some way.
